🚨 BREAKING:
@Figure_robot's are now executing use cases in BMW Group's manufacturing processes.
All manipulations were learned as 200Hz pixel-to-action neural networks.
These systems are capable of inserting sheet metal with sub-centimeter accuracy. The key to this success lies in neural networks that drive all object manipulation, directly mapping camera pixels to robot actions, and eliminating the need for traditional programming methods.
Perhaps most impressively, the robots' navigation is derived purely from object training in simulation (that's the power of virtual learning environments in real-world applications).
Finally, we see more and more real use cases for humanoids. No more jumping or dancing, pure industrial use cases!
Great job, @adcock_brett & team!

♻️ RT to help 1 robot find a new workplace.
Gemma 27B, Nemotrom and Qwen-2 72B are all competing to be the best open source models and do well on different dimensions!
A cocktail of sorts makes sense and will be competitive with SOTA closed source models
Debating whether we should attempt it or just hope/pray for 400B!
What do you guys think?
Wait, is that BB-8? 🤯
The coolest robotics news you will see today!
Students at @Princeton are building a cool robot that looks like BB-8 from Star Wars.
The robot can roll in any direction and has a head that seems to float on top. It uses special parts inside to move and make sounds, and can be controlled from far away—plenty of motors, and servos.
Many parts were 3D printed. 🖨️
The students want to show it to others when it's finished to get them excited about robots.

Vertical farming is a 21st century way of maximizing agricultural output in a small space. It uses cutting-edge technology like aeroponic towers as as-needed watering systems. That lets people grow food for their own use and for sale in much smaller "farms."
Some days I feel like a loser.
This is not a post asking for pity. I'm just being honest about the ups and downs of life, in case someone out there is feeling the same today and might read these words: we're in this together 👊
Keep going, keep trying, keep creating ❤

Starlink Mini is a game changer. It’s small enough to fit in your bag, yet powerful enough to bring you internet anywhere. Imagine being connected, no matter where you are, whether you are in the mountains, at the beach, or on a road trip. You can stay in touch with loved ones, work from the most remote places, and explore without losing connection to the world. This is what you call freedom, a gadget that revolutionizes how you stay connected. I can’t wait to try out the Starlink Mini.

A spider with detachable legs! 🕷️
SnapBot is a new kind of robot that can change its shape.
This robot can walk, crawl, or even row, depending on the setup.
It can use 1 to 6 legs, like a spider that can lose or grow legs. The body can be attached to and detached from the legs using magnetic mechanical couplings.
Scientists from Disney Research made SnapBot to try many different ways robots can move.
It can change into over 700 different shapes. The locomotion algorithm enables Snapbot to locomote in various configurations with one to six legs by recognizing configuration changes and selecting the locomotion method according to the current configuration.

Andrej Karpathy: what started as a Reddit chatbot in the early history of OpenAI has evolved over time into GPT-4o, which is a change in the computing paradigm
I am surprised by the number of people who use computers every day & don’t avail themselves of AI (even though they subscribe to ChatGPT pro) to make their work easier, and only realize they can when someone shows them how
