Year 6 followed a piper out of assembly this morning as they finished their last day at the Prep School, a fantastic way to say farewell. Good luck Year 6!
This afternoon we celebrated the achievements of our Year 6 children on Presentation Afternoon. We were delighted to be joined by author Mary Richards who presented the children with their prizes. Congratulations Year 6!
Reception were excited to bring their teddies to join them for a Tedy Bears' Picnic at snack time this week, to celebrate their hard work this year and thank Mrs Coombe for all her help.
The Pre-Prep children went on a trip to Ryeworth Allotment this week, where they found out about the fruit, vegetables and flowers being grown. They also learned how to protect plants and crops from insects and other animals.
Reception have been thinking about fabric in Art this half term and had a go at creating their own tie dye t-shirts. They were extremely proud of the outcomes!
St Edward's won the Cricket Knockout Trophy for the first time since 2011 this afternoon. The team beat Bishop's Cleeve by 40 runs, Cheltenham College by 43, before coming out on top against Charlton Kings by 39 runs in the final. An excellent afternoon of cricket!
Nursery Maple have been learning about floating and sinking. They have been experimenting with different objects to see what happened when they put them in the water tank...
Pre-School have been learning about France! They have collaged the French flag and made their own salt dough pastries. During circle time, they have been learning how to say 'bonjour, je m'apelle...' and other key phrases, such as how they are feeling.
This morning, Year 6 were lucky enough to visit the local market at Avallon! It was the perfect immersion experience. The children visited la boulangerie, la boucherie, la biscuiterie et la fromagerie, ordering their lunch and chatting with shopkeepers in French.
Year 3 had lots of fun on the farm this morning! They fed the animals, dug a wallow for Spo,t the pig, and put in lots of water. Spot absolutely loved his new play area. They also watched the alpacas getting sheared.
@MaisonCFontaine is a hive of activity as children prepare the ingredients they've bought for lunch! So much French being learnt and spoken...luckily we stopped at a cafe to order refreshments (in French, of course!)
