@pixalpixal@FCHillDicko@grantwlms@troybeck@DeanoNet I mean look at the price for the views. He’s clearly taking into account that most of that audience isn’t relevant. Regardless I wouldn’t throw out the whole concept bc one random mukbang guy probably doesn’t make sense.
@pixalpixal@FCHillDicko@grantwlms@troybeck@DeanoNet Celebrity endorsements is a giant chunk of big companies marketing spend. This is that on a smaller scale. It has to be a good fit to be worth it, it’s not universally a slam dunk, but it’s far from worthless.
@pixalpixal@FCHillDicko@grantwlms@troybeck@DeanoNet Look at his comments. A lot of positive ones. I’m grossed out by that content but it has an audience and influencers have fans. Those followers want to eat at these places because he did and showed off the food and spoke positively about it.
@FCHillDicko@grantwlms@troybeck@DeanoNet It’s a system. They work together. It’s not one or the other. Also businesses ran other kinds of ads before social media. It’s not like paid advertising is brand new. Tv, radio, newspaper. Paid advertising is the old fashioned way too. Social media just made it easier.
@FCHillDicko@grantwlms@troybeck@DeanoNet Is everything black and white to you? Word of mouth is good! I never said it isn’t. You can keep doing things the old fashioned way if you want, but paid advertising is a way to bring in customers that word of mouth doesn’t. And guess what? It leads to more word of mouth!
@pixalpixal@FCHillDicko@grantwlms@troybeck@DeanoNet Unless your argument is that paid ads never work for restaurants but I’d argue that’s very clearly not true. Plenty of examples of great ads on meta for local spots and national chains and they wouldn’t be running big long campaigns if they didn’t make money.
@pixalpixal@FCHillDicko@grantwlms@troybeck@DeanoNet Can’t say bc I run them for a different industry, but not all ads are made equal. If in your experience it’s been wasted money then I’d argue that’s on the agency or whoever was running them not on the concept of paid ads.
@orangeslices17@FCHillDicko@grantwlms@troybeck@DeanoNet I’m not saying if this particular opportunity is worth it or not but obviously the point is that advertising brings in more than it costs…. If it’s not a net positive it wouldn’t be worth it.
@FCHillDicko@grantwlms@troybeck@DeanoNet Still should be doing more than just word of mouth. If you don’t have a consistent flow of new customers from marketing that predictable then you’re just asking for a headache. Good hospitality is half the battle. How does running paid ads go against that?
@TravisV_YT@barettorein@FurgalTheFluff You would, but there’s obviously a market of people who want something in between a console and building a pc. It’s a gateway into steam and pc gaming for people who are used to consoles.
@spinelessaisha@thysss50227967 Hating because jealous. Tale as old as time. Get off your ass and do something and then maybe you’ll have free time too!
