Great to see the coverage of this large study at @WestHertsNHS@CLCHNHSTrust on the positive impact of virtual ward/hospital at home for patients and the NHS. Brilliant team @drniallkeenan@TobsHyde
Brilliant presentation by Enrico Brunetti demonstrating HAH in Italy managing more complex and frail patients than in acute frailty wards with better outcomes including lower hospital acquired infections and mortality. #Whahc2025
Great to hear our secretary @SophieMcGlen discuss the pivotal role of #HospitalAtHome pharmacists in the best poster session. Pharmacists have expanded scopes and deliver more than just medications to patients at home #WHAHC2025
1 week to go until our next #UKHaHSoc webinar on 01/10/24 @ 12:00 (BST). The clinical leads of the Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT) team will be presenting about the GIRFT programme, followed by time for questions.

Hospital at home success! @NHSKentCHFT
Amazing presentation by @jupiterhouse1
17% of all medical admissions for over 75 yr olds avoided going to acute hospital
Data proves there’s better ways to care for elderly patients

3 years in and virtual wards update at #NHSConfedExpo So great to see the growing body of evidence supporting what is an optimal model of care for many patients. Latest SE evaluation report is worth a read https://t.co/lrnkn7o1LI @jupiterhouse1@steffsomerville@DrRajivsankar
@jupiterhouse1 an ironic groan to the room when talking about how she set up a virtual ward in 2 weeks and acknowledging she couldn’t do it now due to bureaucracy. We need to free people up to make the changes in a safe way quickly #NHSConfedexpo
Older patients in virtual wards and remote monitoring technology
Turns out they adapted just fine! #bgsconf@steffsomerville @daithirussell @jupiterhouse1
Great to be part of the National / Regional Virtual Wards Awayday today. Virtual Wards/ Hospital at Home will undoubtedly be a major part of how we deliver health services in the future.
This is a large study and adds to the evidence base about what to do and things to avoid. It’s good to see these models subjected to independent evaluation
Big step forward today in the evidence base around #virtualwards with the publication of @PPLthinks evaluation of 22,000 VW admissions in the @NHSsoutheast showing VW associated with a positive impact on non -elective hospital admissions AND annualised net benefit of £10.4m.
