For our 2026 lab retreat we went into the mountains earlier this week for some team building and great discussions about science, with a nice lunch sandwiched in-between. We all returned to the lab energised and ready to get results in the coming year!
We are excited to welcome 4 students joining us for a project this semester in the LIBN. Ben and Alberic will do project 1B, Pauline has joined for an internship, and Coline for her Master's Thesis. We wish them all a great stay!
We are happy to announce that May has joined the LIBN. She previously studied Biotechnology at Mahidol University (Thailand), and we are very excited that she will now start her PhD journey here with us at EPFL! 🎉
Last week was great at the GRC on Physics of Viruses & Protein Cages in Tuscany! Learned a lot, enjoyed the exchanges. #ProudPI moment, my group showed up with posters that clearly belonged to the same lab.
Had a lovely time in beautiful Champéry with great science and scenery @SNE_ChemBio retreat! Congrats to Louise on presenting her master’s thesis work.
Our retreat concludes with an inspiring Session 4:
🔹 Prof. Pablo Rivera-Fuentes (@UZH_en): Single-Molecule Protein Fingerprinting
🔹 Prof. Angela Steinauer (@EPFL_en): Engineered Protein Cages for RNA Delivery
🔹 Prof. Robbie Loewith (@unige_en): High Resolution of TOR Signaling
Session 2 at the #SNEChemBio retreat is packed with innovation! Talks include:
🔹Prof. Tommaso Patriarchi (@UZH_en) on GPCR function
🔹Prof. Serina Robinson (@EawagResearch) on C-F bond cleavage in microbiomes
🔹Prof. Rachel Hevey (@UniBasel_en) on glycans & microbial virulence
Pint of Science was again a great success in Lausanne, with >500 people attending our events!
Kudos to co-coordinators @miriamlisci and @JSLuneau, and to the fantastic team of 19 volunteers at the bars 🥳!
