🎖️ | @David_Ornstein: There may be a reluctance at Anfield to reach such numbers [£112m] for Yan Diomande, given the £450m outlay last summer and other work required in this window.
It just goes to show that this new “greatest” list has no credibility and has been picked for clickbait reasons. Almost like broadcasters liking bad refereeing decisions so there’s a talking point. I’ll be muting “Liverpool’s Greatest” so I don’t see any more of this crap. #LFC
Two thoughts about this:
1. Slight red flag with the 2-year contract. He’s not (yet) Guardiola, so it seems strange, regardless of his reasoning. Is he wanting to keep his options open for a bigger job?
2. That thick Spanish accent is not going to be easy on the ears.

For those wondering about the two year contract proposed to Iraola, here’s why. Speaks volumes about the man that he prefers to earn his pay rather than get a big payout if he gets the chop, fair play, boss attitude to have.
Can’t believe Konate said “he didn’t know if he would be staying” in his statement the other day.
He’s been in negotiations with Madrid since last year, he just wanted to avoid the backlash and reception that Trent got.
He’s planned this for ages. Yet another rat.
There was a match, a couple of seasons ago, where Curtis did a few one-two’s in a row with Trent. I thought then that they were taking the piss & inflating their stats. So it’s no surprise he’s 1st for short passes. Take these stats with a pinch of salt. #LFC
I think this idea that #lfc missed out on Xabi Alonso because they sacked Slot too late is wide of the mark. He’s a great coach and a Liverpool legend, but if you want aggressive, fast-paced, up-and-at-em football, he’s not your guy. Iraola much closer to Klopp’s “vollgas” style
@RorySmith I think that it’s pretty clear the owners have stepped in to overrule the execs. The 3 contracts going into their final year smacks of a lack of conviction in Edwards & co. Plus you don’t work with Klopp for 9 years & not recognise the crucial importance of pure leadership.
I can’t shake the hunch that they’ve deliberately waited until after Alonso was off the market. Would have been the overwhelming fan choice but an awkward fit for the infrastructure.
Won the league and deserves enormous respect for doing so, but it feels like the right decision. It felt broken and it was best for him as well as Liverpool.
There are other fingerprints on the make-up of this squad, though, and it’ll be interesting to see what happens now in terms of Hughes and Edwards.
• Ibrahima Konate
• Mo Salah
• Andy Robertson
• Trent Alexander-Arnold
• Roberto Firmino
• Naby Keita
• Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
• James Milner
• Divock Origi
• Loris Karius
• Gini Wijnaldum
• Adam Lallana
• Nathaniel Clyne
Have all left since 2020. Total? £10m.
So basically. Iraola wants to be Liverpool manager,Liverpool fans want Iraola.
Slot wants to Party in Ibiza, Liverpool fans don’t want slot
Which one will FSG pick…..
