Around 4 months ago when I went to visit my parents at their home

I stopped by a restaurant near to get pepper soup takeout.

I saw my secondary school classmate there
Clearing the tables and taking my order

At first I didn’t think much of it especially when I noticed the owner was her mum

It’s okay to help your parents businesses right ?

Until this woman started interviewing me 😂

And I meant her mum

She saw how we greeted each other and laughed like we were catching up.

Her mum first asked me why I’m buying much take out

I said I was visiting my parents and I wanted to bring something they liked.

She shockingly asked (with eyes wide open)

“You don’t live with them” ?

I said No, why would I still live with my parents at this age,

my life will clearly be unproductive cause of 0 challenges.

That how this woman started talking with pride on how none of her children will ever leave her house else they are married

They have a shop to run bla bla bla

She went on to say, her children won’t be there and she will be paying extra workers.

I looked at my classmate, she was soo embarrassed and at the verge of crying

At that moment, all I could see was a girl in her twenties chained and living in extreme bondage.

And unfortunately, I can’t do anything for her.

Worst is, I don’t even think she has ever worked other than at her mum’s shop.

No experience or skill whatsoever.
