Here's how we spent our STEM Open Day at Lagos & Port Harcourt!
On Saturday, our learners brought their creativity & enthusiasm as we explored the day's STEM activities.
They asked questions, explored design & simulation, and approached everything with the right kind of energy!
At STEMCafe, there are no barriers to learning for any child who engages in our activities.
Irrespective of gender, each maker is given the same opportunity to explore, learn and build.
There is no reason for learning/opportunity to be disadvantageous to one group over another.
Join us for the FREE STEM Open Day happening at Lagos & Port Harcourt!

Meet our young creator, Choice, from the SLB Young Creators Programme! π
She aspires to study Medicine and Surgery.
While medicine may seem far from 3D modeling at first glance, both require the ability to think critically, visualise solutions, and understand how systems work.
They worked with sensors, microcontrollers, 3D-printed parts, and other components to bring their creative, solution-oriented ideas to life, drawing on every aspect of the knowledge gained from the year-long programme.

On November 24, 2025, we wrapped up a year of learning & building with the SLB Young Creators Programme Grand Demo Event. 8 schools, 200 students in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
Over the coming weeks, weβll share highlights & perspectives that shaped the studentsβ journey & outcomes.
The ideation & building of each project was done solely by the student groups, with guidance from their educators. They pooled the skills they gained in Embedded Systems & 3D modelling to create projects such as the smart walking stick with vibration and a smart defense tank.
Happy International Day of Education!
As the 2026 theme highlights, we believe in the power of our makers in co-creating their education.
In non-linear learning, the power of education rests with both educators and learners.

Another week of learning for the GCL Sailors Programme Cohort 2 π
A crucial aspect of translating ideas into prototypes is understanding how to model effectively.
As part of the programme design, the students are learning how to navigate and model with the 3D software tools.
