Prior to this year, I would've said you'd have to pry my paper Engineering Notebook out of my lifeless fingers before I'd voluntarily make the switch to digital. π€£πβοΈ But, now, after seeing how students make them their own, I'm *this* close to choosing it for myself! βοΈπ₯οΈ
Workers in the skilled trades are getting us through this week, and will spend the coming weeks putting our homes, schools and businesses back together. Check out opportunities in these careers! https://t.co/ShKghWFank
Back from a social media break, and brought a new little rocket scientist with me! Miles was born 9/29, and was a very welcome addition to 2020!! π₯°πΆ
Followed @klloyd_edu's advice to personalize my Zoom waiting room ππ The meeting name would show up below the pic, I had to meet with myself to get a screenshot π I do attendance as Iet them in.
The nosepieces on this glasses-style face shield were way too long to properly wear a KN95 mask, so I hacked my trusty Oakleys into the most comfortable shield ever. Work smarter out there people!! πππ
Teachers- we heard yesterday that removing your mask to teach in class is an option if you are 6 ft away from students (in KISD). PLEASE choose to wear it. You could emit aerosols- infectious viral particles that drift around in the air for up to 3 hrs https://t.co/rca94nzmvt
@KellerISD We need to Start Safe; take time to make campus specific plans better than the vague, nonspecific details currently released. Prioritize your staff and students. Follow the science, not the politics! Students and staff are worth it!π€
It is impossible to mitigate virus spread in a classroom, don't kid yourself that we're prepared to keep kids and staff covid-free. It's impossible.

So much this. Nowhere in the plans released have I seen consideration for the lives of teachers and staff, many of whom are either high risk themselves (πββοΈ) or live with people who are. Rigorous remote learning is a viable option- AND WORTH IT. Esp. in buildings with 2k+ students
It is unethical to expect teachers to return to in-person classrooms in the fall when their level of exposure to the virus will be exponentially increased. You only gamble with the lives of people you have no value for
My May timeline flashbacks are always full of pics like this. πππFeeling pretty bummed for all the rocket teams that didn't get to finish builds and launch this spring!! I was really looking forward to helping from the other side of the fence this year!
