horrible histories talking about the french revolution
Ludendorff: so the war. How're we gonna win
Kaiser Wilhelm: well I uh
Ludendorff, smashing things on his desk: I don't believe in Jesus. I'm like literally Odin! I'm Odin!
(Kaiser Wilhelm, alarmed, looks to his left at Hindenburg, who is nonchalantly eating a stick of celery)

@Knightly_H @LB2021 It is a shame when people invent words for such things when the period ones are great. In English sources, 'pots' for helmets, 'corselets' for back-and-breast (and pikemen as a unit), 'targets' for shields, and 'arm-pipes' for pauldrons / vambraces.
@Knightly_H @LB2021 That would be great to see - in my experience it's seemingly been one of those things taken as gospel but never questioned within reenactment groups.
