The Bull’s Illusion of Possible Victory

In this critical moment, the handlers of the regime are harbored by the bull's illusion of a possible victory. Head first, they charge, tinkering with voting results and spreading the myth of the incumbent’s unshakable strength in rural areas—those very areas where the people suffer most, yet are paradoxically portrayed as gleefully feathering the nest of their oppressors.

But this regime is the bull, charging blindly in an arena that is no longer its own. The arena is now filled with the silent, determined mass of the people, who have spoken openly and loudly for change. They stand united, regardless of tribe, religion, or party, awaiting a new dawn.

As the days go by, the nation, Africa, and the world hold their breath, hoping the outgoing president will read a page from President Abdou Diouf of Senegal’s book. That singular act of recognizing the will of the people became the compass that guides Senegal to this day—a legacy of dignity that echoes through history.

After 43 years of endurance, the people now watch, wondering if the heart of Diouf can be cloned. The bull, in its final, desperate charge, sees only the red cape of its own illusion, not the matadors of destiny who await its fall.

En ce moment critique, les maîtres du régime sont enfermés dans l'illusion du taureau qui croit à une victoire possible. La tête la première, ils chargent, trafiquant les résultats du scrutin et répandant le mythe de la force inébranlable du sortant dans les zones rurales – ces mêmes zones où la population souffre le plus, mais qui sont paradoxalement dépeintes comme remplissant allègrement les poches de leurs oppresseurs.

Mais ce régime est le taureau, chargeant aveuglément dans une arène qui ne lui appartient plus. L'arène est désormais remplie par la masse silencieuse et déterminée du peuple, qui a parlé ouvertement et fortement pour le changement. Il est uni, au-delà de l'ethnie, de la religion ou du parti, et attend une nouvelle aube.

Alors que les jours passent, la nation, l'Afrique et le monde retiennent leur souffle, espérant que le président sortant saura s'inspirer d'une page du livre de l'ancien président sénégalais Abdou Diouf. Ce geste unique de reconnaissance de la volonté du peuple est devenu la boussole qui guide le Sénégal jusqu'à ce jour – un héritage de dignité qui résonne à travers l'histoire.

Après 43 ans d'endurance, le peuple observe, se demandant si le cœur de Diouf peut être cloné. Le taureau, dans sa charge finale et désespérée, ne voit que la cape rouge de sa propre illusion, et non les matadors du destin qui attendent sa chute.

CALL TO CANDIDATES RUNNING IN THE 12 OCTOBER 2025 ELECTION

Since the political and legal barbarism of 26 July and 5 August, I have been observing the political scene in our country, consulting and listening to the players.

We will soon be expressing our views on the election scheduled for 12 October.

In the meantime, I would like to make the following appeal: We are at a historic moment when political change is possible.

If the 11 opposition candidates decided to unite behind one among those of them who are the most experienced in politics and the management of state affairs, against the CPDM candidate, it could trigger an irresistible popular dynamic that would make victory inevitable.

In the absence of alignment behind a single candidate, a powerful coalition of several candidates could raise great hopes and trigger a comparable political dynamic. Let us not reverse the roles: the primary and crucial political responsibility rests on the shoulders of the candidates and not on the shoulders of any ‘kingmaker’, an expression that might flatter the egos of some.

Dear opposition candidates in the upcoming presidential election, help the Cameroonian people to help you bring about change peacefully and through the ballot box. Clarify the situation and simplify the voters' choice by forming a political alliance that avoids confrontation between you and the dispersion of votes from voters who are so eager for change. With this in mind, I appeal to the particular responsibility of two valiant and worthy sons of Cameroon, candidates from the Northern part of the country; I appeal to their patriotism, their sense of duty and sacrifice, which require them to rise above themselves and be present at this historic moment.

There is not much time left. The candidates and their respective teams can still make up for lost time by working day and night to achieve this crucial goal for our country. They have an exceptional opportunity to show their love for our people and our country.

Dear opposition candidates, by chance (but is it always chance?), there are 11 of you, just like a football team. And there is a penalty kick to be taken for victory. Choose from among yourselves, or at least from among the most experienced, the kicker who has the best chance of scoring the liberating goal.

L’Eclipse de la Vérité
"Alors qu'une autre semaine débute, j'ai pris le temps de réfléchir et suis malheureusement parvenu à la conclusion que notre pays est désormais immergé dans une éclipse totale de la vérité. Chaque histoire est manipulée, et chaque jour nous nous éloignons davantage de la vérité, restant inconscients des besoins réels de nos citoyens. La fièvre de la survie politique ou de la percée a touché ceux qui prétendent être des "leaders". Cette atmosph��re prospère grâce à la nature opaque de notre gouvernance et à un gouvernement indifférent à la fraude et à la corruption généralisées devenues la norme. Il revient désormais à la société civile, aux universitaires et aux artistes de se lever et de prendre la parole. Ce sont les seules forces authentiques qui peuvent dresser le miroir devant la société pour qu'elle puisse se regarder et se réveiller de ce sommeil prolongé. Je crois fermement que le Cameroun se relèvera."
