Developmental trauma is relational trauma. Relational wounds require relational healing.
Material rewards, incentive schemes and bribes are a lazy, mostly ineffective intervention for problematic behaviours.

The level of P-hacking and dodgy evaluations of therapeutic models and interventions claiming to be ‘evidence based’ is astounding.
Agencies and governments buying in to these need to read evaluations a little more carefully.

The use of ‘rewards and consequences’ has been the approach with traumatised kids since Skinner trained his rat in 1938.
But Skinner wasn’t correcting inappropriate rat behaviour, and his rat wasn’t traumatised, at least not until after the experiment.
