In Art Class, 1st grds learned about the importance of Lunar New Year in Chinese Culture, and created their very own Dragon Puppets. Their puppets paraded over to Music Class, where they learned a song in Mandarin, and choreographed movements to the beat. Proud of these artists!
In October, 98 Second Graders toured the Toledo Museum of Art. They analyzed how art contributes to community and discussed different works by many incredible artists. Matisse’s Apollo’ was one of our favorite sights! Thank you PTO and TMA for sponsoring transportation costs.
Thank you @ToledoMuseum for giving our 2nd Graders such a fun and educational tour today! Your docents were engaging and so knowledgeable about the art. Our Comets ☄️ loved every minute 🖼 🎨. @GenoaSchools
@GenoaSchools Thank you @cassiestephens for the inspiration!! We did buildings based on our beautiful town of Genoa, Ohio and it also led into a #SpongeBob love fest! 😂
Students in Mrs. Comb’s Art classes are studying the work of contemporary artist James Rizzi. Rizzi loved to create vibrantly-colored silly face buildings and cities. Students worked diligently on making their own building that was personally meaningful to them. #BigSmiles
Students in Mrs. Mullen's Kindergarten class are developing reading skills and enjoying buddy reading time as they read Emergent Reader books together.
In Mrs. Foos’ Elementary Technology classroom, 4th-grade students have begun exploring digital 3D design. These students are designing, developing, and printing a 3D keychain using the online platform, Tinkercad. All students in grades 3-5 will develop a 3D project this year!
We love our Elementary Essentials Team! They celebrate students’ different kinds of learning and offer a creative break from their classroom. From left: Stephanie Combs- Art, Lizzie Wilcox- Library, Chelsea Wyss- Music, Randy Grosjean- Gym, Bethany Foos- Technology
@Fyre_flye @VashtiHarrison Yes!!! Have definitely felt this; I am an Art Teacher Artist and not only do I feel like not making stuff, but then I feel guilt for feeling this way. First: self-care. Stop the guilt and embracing that it’s ok to not feel like it. Second: just play. No expectation. 💗
As states & communities work to address #COVID19, the economic crisis, & the fight for racial justice, it couldn't be more clear: The Senate MUST pass the #HEROESAct and invest where we need it most. Tell the Senate: Don't forfeit our future! https://t.co/OyDNnGexd0 @AFTUnion
Today, I had a chance to catch up with two great guys, Benjamin Smith and Marcus Ellis. These two best friends have set up camp at Smith's house in Pittsford on Jeff. Road, saying "Black or white, relax and have a beer." #ROC@News_8
