@SpawnWaveMedia You mentioned multi player and the rolling ball mech, are you thinking Metal Warrior there? Cybernator was that similar back then. Good game too. I was a fan of the other Assault Suit series game we got on the Genesis that was rebranded Target Earth for the west.

@orbalology Oh god, I forgot a number of people were having connection issues. Could spend 200 for something that does not work well. Or at least does not work well out of the box without tinkering or updates...

@orbalology I was regretting my Pocket purchase for a while (bought for my large GG collection and a few GB and GBA games) then I ended up ripping my 8 and 16 bit games and saves and loading up an SD card. Finally finished the MS Ys book 1 on it after 30 years. Glad I got it now.

@orbalology Thanks! And so far they seem to want to keep me around for now, and the phd should get me a promotion here, so not sure what my next move is. Hope you hear back soon on your applications! The waiting is always nerve racking.

@orbalology Oh, wow yes. They always seem so nice. I delayed finishing my PhD til this year and have worked a university research position for the last 5+ years, dependent on outside funding. It's been consistent funding but I still always worry about it.

@orbalology Yeah, I've been on both sides of that process for academia. Neither side is fun. I think at least once a month I stare blankly at work and think private sector might be nice

@orbalology Looking forward to a Pocket review. I used mine for my GB and GB advanced (skipped the GB color in my youth, had a GG instead) I didn't think I'd use the ability to play roms but I ended up dumping all my own games and putting them on it. Started using it way more after that.

@orbalology I get so conflicted about keeping and displaying things that are just empty space since I have such limited space. Board games can be really bad with the wasted space but the box art can be great on some of those too.

I missed this the first time and jumped on this when I saw it. Already got delivered. Region isn't a big deal to me but mine was a European release. Pretty bad shape too. Was it supposed to have some sort of seal or shrink wrap?? Any one else have this experience

@orbalology I've heard others mention pre order issues with them. I have had good luck with them for years for some reason. Wonder if there is a pattern, certain manufacturers or countries of origin or something to the hit and miss nature.
