Yesterday EA partially responded due to #CFBPlayDontPay, but they did almost nothing. It felt like they were seeing what they could get away with.
However, this shows they’re willing to cave now, but we have to keep making our voices heard
They’re probably thrilled it’s Friday, and hoping this all blows over during the weekend, but it won’t until they give the community what they deserve
Remove microtransactions from single player game modes and put back ALL of the fast XP sliders that were just in CFB 26.
If you think the microtransactions aren’t a big deal right now I need you to understand the design of CFB games will fundamentally change forever to get more and more out of the consumer. Modes will get worse and more grindy so you spend more. Features will be taken away to make room for this stuff. We have evidence all across the gaming world. Don’t let this happen to our game. #CFBPlayDontPay
@EASPORTSCollege the wait is not over. Micro transactions are still in single player game modes and the RTG XP Sliders you took out are still missing. #CFBPlayDontPay
EA’s response misses the mark once again. It is clear they will not budge from microtransactions in RTG and dynasty. Changing the names of the slider settings won’t change the fact the MTX are completely ridiculous in dynasty.
They are also saying they won’t bring back XP sliders in RTG. Of course because you need to be incentivized to spend money.
Disappointing. They are dying on this hill. #CFBPlayDontPay
For those who tuned into my CFB streams in previous years & were looking forward to more this summer, I apologize. Unfortunately have not had the time/ability at home to go live like I used to
Haven’t even bought CFB 27 yet tbh, and seeing how EA has turned on its community, I’m going to hold off unless they take micro-transactions out of dynasty #CFBPlayDontPay
EA also made it so if you turn off wear and tear in RTG you get lower XP gains. Further incentivizing you to spend money on the microtransactions. #CFBPlayDontPay
EA has responded, but sounds like they’re gonna stand firm for now and double down on the changes with micro transactions
They’re also using creators to push their messaging without making a statement themselves or addressing anything
“the core coach level progression is unchanged from CFB 26” true, but normal is way too slow, and you REMOVED 2 faster settings
They acknowledge “Fast/Faster Coach Progression was removed from Dynasty,” 0 update on a plan to bring it back
ZERO mention of removing XP sliders from Road to Glory either
“continuing to monitor community feedback” basically meaning we don’t wanna make a change because we think it’ll blow over lmao
I can’t believe this is the response the College Football team is making. Do better @EASPORTSCollege #CFBPlayDontPay
If you're going to charge $70+ for a video game, I think microtransactions are only acceptable for legit DLC, cosmetics or UT (and even then, you need a no money spent option). Introducing them into single player modes is deeply anticonsumer and a troubling sign for EACFB
You are the GOAT for this.
I will not be buying. The execs took a masterful game by the devs and ruined it for everyone by putting these free features behind a paywall. The devs should be livid.
I shouldn’t have to spend hundreds more dollars to have the baseline experience I did last year or the year prior.
Why is a 5 star recruit a 54 overall in RTG? They’re 80 in dynasty. Why do I have to come home exhausted from work and pay $100 to upgrade my offline character to achieve the same experience I had at no extra cost in NCAA 06-14??? For only 4 seasons!!!!!!
Stop taking free features and putting them behind paywalls.
Why I am I paying $100 to unlock all the mascots for mascot mode?
Why are they effectively selling back the coach xp sliders?
What “free” feature goes behind the paywall next?
Absolutely not. This will be the end of the series for me and probably everyone I know if this isn’t reversed.
This is the most abhorrent, shameless money grab I’ve seen from EA & 2k, and I didn’t think that was possible.
Please RT this so we’re blaming the right people..
While we’re focused on #EAPlayDontPay, here’s a quick thread of the people most likely responsible for pressuring Tiburon into forcing MTX in single player modes 🧵
I’ve been seeing a lot of what the community has been saying about creators like myself who got the game early but I can assure you we were not briefed on microtransactions entering the offline modes. In fact I heard that there would not be microtransactions entering these modes but I don’t remember who told me that explicitly. I also wasn’t even aware that coach XP settings had been changed as that is not something I’ve ever messed with as I typically keep things to default settings to mirror the experience of 90% of the user base. I don’t inherently have a problem with microtransactions as long as there is transparency and if people who have less time to grind want to pay for a headstart I don’t really care, it’s just something I would personally avoid. What I absolutely have a problem with is sneaking them in WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY TAKING OUT the XP progression speed that gave creative control for free. This is not something that should be locked behind a paywall and doing it in this way I think is not only shady but a sign of things to come where core features are pay to play. Dynasty has the potential to be the best mode in any sports game and doing things like this “behind our backs” is not something we should accept. The greatness of this mode is that it is not like ultimate team. Go charge those guys whatever, it’s a pay to play mode. You win. But do not bring this pay to play model to what is at its core, an offline mode. It’s disappointing and we deserve better @EASPORTSCollege #CFBPlayDontPay
@DubDotDUBBY My guy, you’re literally competing against a harder CPU (you said it yourself) to win games, get better prospects, and build better facilities. Of course you have competition, even in an offline game mode. So please do yourself and the dynasty community a favor and watch the vid.
@DubDotDUBBY Not everyone can play dynasty for 3-4 hours a day and grind over 100 hours into one dynasty. Most dynasty players used the “fast” or “fastest” settings so they could upgrade their coach at their own pace. Not only that, but you said that “you’re not playing against anyone else.”
IDGAF about a partnership. Make a stand against micro transactions in Dynasty and RTG. Take them out and bring XP sliders back @EASPORTSCollege#CFBPlayDontPay
