Incredibly saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Ger Luitjen. A more universally admired and hugely popular person in the drawings world would be hard to think of. Always so kind and welcoming to all of us at Team SOFA and like many others I shall miss him terribly.

I have really no idea why that Guercino pen drawing of the Flaying of Marsyas at Sotheby’s yesterday made $315,000 all in. I mean, it was nice and all, but not a masterpiece and I found the inscription on the verso bleeding through the recto disturbing. So what am I missing?
