The comments from young people here are not an exception but the norm. The one constant theme in all our one on one conversations with young people is - I have given up. A sentiment that becomes more profound politically based on how poor someone may be.
If I were politicians I would be worried about those who are attending TAFE and not Universities. They live in a lot more politically volatile and marginal seats. They do not have the wealth or time to participate in activities that we see on university campuses at the moment. (An aside, personally I support people’s right to >>peacefully<< protest)
