MD of Sports Ground Development Ltd. Husband to Mrs.C. Proud father of Zoe & her hubby Matt + 3 Grandkids. Poor Golfer. Keen on Real Ale, Walking & Travel.
Pretty underwhelming England squad. Personal picks Lewis Hall, Harry Maguire, James Garner, Jared Bowen & Danny Welbeck for Spence (no left foot) Quansah, Madueki, Toney & Henderson. Would also have Luke Shaw, Adam Wharton, TAA, Miles-Skelly & Foden ahead of those 5
How many Middlesbrough players will have gone, or are still be on holiday since Southampton game, been told they are being released or have agents lining up transfers to the Prem?
@PTAlanSwann@psfcturbines@PTBenJones Sports didn’t get where they are today by giving it up with 15 winnable points still to play for. I am sure true fans will remember the club were playing in front of 1 man & his dog 6 levels lower 14 years ago & accept that relegation has always been the most likely next move
England v Uruguay a timely reminder of why I can take or leave top level football these days. Game is heading towards something completely unwatchable (unlike Rugby Union)
@PTAlanSwann I have sponsored the Non-League manager of the year for a few seasons, but not this year because of how hard it is to get to the awards ceremony there - trains not really an option for Mrs.C
@PTAlanSwann Not sure mate - it is about keeping the season alive for more clubs as deep into the season as possible but look at this season with clubs right down to Naarwich still in play off picture - not needed & downside could be clubs 4th to 6th last few games having little interest?
If the teams finishing 7th & 8th face the 5th & 6th away on a one off game, why doesn’t the winner of those play the 3rd & 4th team away in a one off game given the final is then also a one off game - not sure what the difference is?
And another thing! 4 up from League 2 is a hang over from the old 3rd division North/South from Roman times. Surely that & National League should sync with rest of pyramid? Football really is in a mess at the moment from top to bottom

@PTAlanSwann Agree at 3-1 Australia. However we do have a chance & think 1st test winner wins the series. Need to try & avoid those flat sessions with ball and early collapses with the bat which I suppose is obvious really
@OllieHolt22 He is becoming marmite though. For all the many good things he does, his 1st instinct when losing the ball is not to get it back but to have a little huff. England gave up a frightening number of chances after the mass substitutions & were far too open defensively
