Getting tired of hearing "Don't overburden the underfunded and understaffed medical system" from the government, as if it were my responsibility and not theirs to appropriately fund and staff their medical system.
Where is the large scale push back message of 'Hire More Nurses'
@scott_pm@acroll I've always said that algorithms should be legally bound to declare themselves as algorithms to people.
Especially for customer service. As an example, companies should not be allowed to trick you into thinking you're receiving personal customer care from a chat bot. #DeclareAI
Listening in to #FWD50 online this morning and loving the early conversations around the importance of People and Culture as the key ingredient needed to see real change.
@mackenz_kitchen@scott_pm@DigiAcademyCAN@kentdaitken@EricaVezeau@jdneilbouwer I will always be thankful to have worked with you on data and data literacy. Thank you so much for all of your support and contributions. @scott_pm is lucky to have you on the team! He's so great to work with and I can't wait to see all the great work coming out of BC you two!
@RobButler@quidampepin@ImaOkonny@ToferC@SandyKyriakatos@paulmguerra who posted here is a great contact for this as well. Feel free to reach out any time if you need any other contacts. There is great work being done across the GC on this in ESDC, NRCan, ECCC, and many others orgs.
@RobButler@quidampepin@ImaOkonny@ToferC@SandyKyriakatos For data literacy you can start with the People and Culture WG (https://t.co/stmO7jmVcy) which has had a literacy focus for a while. Check out the GC Data Competency Framework (https://t.co/NnNct1csPH) which @ImaOkonny and @SandyKyriakatos 's teams contributed to significantly.
After 3 amazing years working at @School_GC for the incredible @jdneilbouwer I am both sad and very excited to say that yesterday I signed my LOO for my next adventure, working at @ESDC_GC under @ImaOkonny and @KimberleyKargus in the CDO helping with the next data strategy!
I am so excited to be moving over to ESDC to learn about service delivery to Canadians and to bring my experience around People and Culture in Data to create a strategy, and more importantly a culture, that uses data to improve our services to Canadians. Thanks and stay in touch!
The opportunity to work at The School, to see the change occurring across the GC in Data and Digital, and to help in the early stages of incredible projects like the #GCData Community, the @DigiAcademyCAN, and Public Sector Experimentation will always be a highlight of my career.
@AmandaBernardo Random Example: Brief on recent covid number.
One word: high
Two: very high
Three: very high rising
Five: very high rising, less dangerous
Then do 25 taking each of those, turning each into a slide using the same 1,2,5 process. Your brief can now be 1,5 or 25 words as needed.
@AmandaBernardo People often write something and then trim/edit it down after. I worked with a former DM from Finance who taught me to work the other way. What if you could only say one word. What word do you pick that encapsulates what you want to say? OK, now what if you get 2? Now 5? Then 25.
@honeygolightly My wife is going through her testing now. Speaking slowly and carefully, taking time to collect your thoughts before speaking, is not a sign of not understanding a language. Especially if that's how you speak in your native tongue!
There's still time if you haven't registered yet!
