@missholborow I stayed up till 3am to finish a book on the night I knew my husband was waking (and would wake me) at 4am for a taxi to the airport, signalling the start of a month of solo parenting for me. That was stupid, but also enjoyable.
@RossGarnerEW @mentormullarkey @thedannyseals I had to press pause on reading it a while back
...I needed to read a few shorter books for a bit! But I do want to back to it, especially with your review.
The new(ish) podcast Science Diction is excellent - super interesting, word-based science stuff in 15 minute bursts. Perfect for squeezing in amongst the chaos of a lockdown-with-two-kids day... @RossGarnerEW @KimSEdwards_ @kategraham23 might be up your street!
@RossGarnerEW Ah, good thinking. For some reason had in my head it would be a specialised service but that doesn't really make sense. Will investigate locally. Thanks!
Can anyone recommend 1) a company that can recover files from an external hard drive, & 2) a company/service, if one exists, that can move 10 yrs of photos to cloud storage (because the prospect of the time it will take for me to do that feels insurmountably daunting)?
@RossGarnerEW @thedannyseals @mentormullarkey @StephenKing That is where I am too, I am an Abagail fan! Oh I really need to start reading again - I have been on this chapter for ages and it isn't because of the chapter length!
@missholborow @GemStGem Beside Ourselves is so wonderful! I read that and The Girl With All The Gifts one after the other and both were beautiful and surprising and lovely.
@GemStGem @AngelaPeggyH Conversely I have only had two in-person conversations with other adults since last Saturday, and only once-daily broken Skype chats with husband, and even for me as an introvert it's starting to feel a bit quiet...
