Happy New Year everyone! Coming up Tuesday Night, will be the first Greenbrier Basketball home contest of the 2024 Season!

After splitting on the road at Sycamore , last Friday night, both Greenbrier Squads are looking to start off District Play on the right foot.

Our opening contest will pit the 8-7 Greenbrier Lady Cats, who have suffered three straight losses, taking on very improved Macon County (12-5) team who had won 5 of their last 7, after winning all of 7 games last season. A newcomer to the district, in the 2023-2024 season and fresh off a win over Class 2A #15 Jackson County last Friday, this Lady Tiger team hung 101 points on Glencliff over Thanksgiving Break. The Lady Cats have not notched a victory over Macon County since Dec of 2004.

In the nightcap, we have the also 8-7 Bobcats, winners of 6 of their last 7 games. These Cats, who have clawed back to get the season under control, won 3/4 at the East Robertson Christmas Classic with their sole loss to Oregon Class 5A’s Wilsonville. Macon County (7-10) has also seen its share of struggles this season. The Tigers recently went on a streak for their own, winning 5 straight as they closed out 2023. Only winning 5 total contests last season, The Bobcats have not had a win over The Tigers since 2010.
