The #formula shortage is a crisis. Know what else is a crisis? Patients who struggle to or can't access specialty formulas b/c of insurance company denials. Congress must pass the #MedicalNutritionEquityAct this year. @POLITICOPro https://t.co/FRWD5DJuKi
Last year, state assessments were cancelled.
Number of times our teachers have wished they had that data to help inform their instruction this year: 0
Do with that information what you will.
@MsKoontzMDUSD@hvehawks@PHEdinos@strandwoodel@VikingPridePH Looks great! Do you have drop off, pick up, recess, bathroom, and water bottle protocols laid out? Or plans for library, music, etc? Our school site has all the distancing & signage too but awaiting info on actual logistics of how the day will go
I subbed for a teacher this week & had to teach both kids at school in person & at home via zoom at the same time. Whoa! Every principal & district leader should do this. Way more difficult than people realize. Our teachers are saints. We are asking a lot from them. #ashlandsoar
@wendytownlin T's at my site took initiative & we started planning. We're prepping what we can (which isn't much with no MOU or schedule as a starting point). Tired of waiting for direction that apparently isn't coming. It's very stressful!
"With materials secured and protocols in place, our campuses are prepared to open to students and families."
Excited to see my S's but have yet to hear any of the protocols mentioned. Wondering when they will be communicated to T's so we can plan 🙃
@Seesaw I'm begging you to create a page for Ts to view one student at a time & see their completed assignments, drafts, and missing work all in one page. Currently dying a slow death clicking in and out of every activity to check work... 😑
@TeachMrReed Please tell that to my district that is requiring new virtual assessments on a platform that my Ss have never used & I haven't been trained on because the optional PD session was full 🙄 & now they want us to do training on our own time
Wondering how many elementary kids saw tonight's debate & curious to hear their thoughts on our president's behavior. That's not how we have productive conversations or respectfully disagree with peers. Every single one of my 8 year olds knows that.
Anyone else having to do fire drills while working on campus without students? Seems like there are better ways to spend our time but maybe it's just me... 🙃
"We are listening to the gentle voices of our children’s teachers as they try to spin what is terrifying and unfamiliar into a soft blanket of comfort and resiliency. That is not their job, but they have always done it anyway. Now we do it together." https://t.co/Ka3MPLlHew
@TechedUpTeacher I just read their names in # order. They can unmute and say here/hi or they can type it in the chat. I time them so it's a personal class challenge. Our best time is 1 min 58 sec. Not fancy but works for us!
If you are an admin and you haven’t tried virtual teaching yet, jump in! Your teachers are now teaching on the moon. You can’t watch from the safety of earth and say, “looks good!” Jump in! And virtual staff meetings do NOT count.
#distancelearning2020
One week of distance learning down. I'm proud of myself, stressed like I've never known, impressed with colleagues and students, grateful for patient families, and tired. So so tired.
