There is a great saying from eastern culture:
The tree that grows slowly often develops the deepest roots.
If your success came later, perhaps life was preparing you.
If your path took longer, perhaps you were learning lessons others skipped.
If you had to start over, perhaps you were building something stronger.
Many people spend their lives comparing timelines.
But nature never rushes.
The oak does not envy the bamboo.
The mountain does not envy the river.
Everything arrives in its own season.
Stop measuring your life against someone else’s clock.
Dear @WhiteHouse, my name is Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service in Huntsville, Alabama. Through our 50 Yard Challenge, over 6,000 kids across the country have signed up to mow free lawns for the elderly, disabled, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and single parents. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this year and me also being born on July 4th, I wanted to humbly ask if a few kids from our program and myself could travel to Washington, D.C. to help mow the White House lawn for this historic celebration.
More than anything, I want these kids to see how a simple act of service something as ordinary as mowing a lawn for someone in need can lead to extraordinary places. What better lesson in community service than showing them that helping others can take them all the way to our nation’s capital? I’d also love to bring my American flag-themed mower in hopes that the President might sign it, so I can later auction it off and donate 100% of the proceeds to a nonprofit supporting veterans. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to highlight the importance of service, patriotism, and the impact young people can have when they choose to make a difference. 🇺🇸

Sometimes your legacy isn’t always left on the playing field. Instead, it’s marked by your commitment to team as an enthusiastic and consistent practice player to make your teammates better and your unwavering encouragement and support of their achievements and success; your positive reflection of your school through your dedication and service to your communities; your dogged pursuit of academic achievement and excellence; and your leadership both on and off the field. Congrats Cam Sarvis on an outstanding four years @Vol_Softball and THANK YOU for how you represented my beloved alma mater, the University of Tennessee. A true Lady Vol legend in my book. #LVFL
USA Softball Player of the Year Jordy Frahm announced she competed this season while 3 months pregnant
As a hitter, she slashed .403/.496/.806 (1.302 OPS) with 20 HR & 51 RBI
As a pitcher, she went 21-6 with a 1.37 ERA, 251K's in 189.2 IP
Absolute badass.
It's an absolute shame that the game to go to the championship series is played 30 minutes apart from each other.
For softball to put the BEST product on the field with a stadium at MAX CAPACITY, these games should be on separate days.
These student athletes deserve better.
“It really hurts right now, but just so thankful for the journey” ❤️
@HuskerSoftball's Jordy Frahm reflects on her career after bowing out of the #WCWS.
Jordy Frahm has signed every autograph and taken every selfie with a massive postgame crowd of waiting fans.
She’s been signing for 20 minutes (and counting). Some folks joined the crowd late and Frahm doubled back to sign for them too.
