Doctor: Your baby isn't sleeping and is fussy all the time because she's extra social and wants to be interacting with people constantly.
Me, an easily overstimulated omnivert married to an extreme introvert: ...How do we fix it?

Hey @XfinitySupport my spouse works from home and is gonna lose his job if your service keeps going out. Automated support keeps saying there isn't an outage, but our neighbors are out, too, and one finally got ahold of a human who admitted the outage. No service appts until Thu.
@mostlymartha@beamish_girl@collectdust Went to visit my sister in Wiltshire, we drove 2.25 hours into London (with a baby and a toddler) to visit a friend.
Friend's coworkers: "they're getting a hotel, right?"

@emilykmay Oof, I had several of these. (Don't know what that says about me...) The common thread seems to have been that they fell apart whenever I set boundaries on my time, energy, and emotional availability, usually following a significant life event.
That awkward feeling when a hospital nurse asks if you work in the medical field because you seem very knowledgeable about your care, and you just laugh and explain that being constantly forced to self-advocate within the shitty US healthcare system for decades will do that.
Me in HOSPITAL elevator in front of giant 'masks required' sign, to maskless middle-aged woman getting on: Aren't you supposed to be...? *points at face*
Her: Yep, I am. π€·π»ββοΈ
Me: *holding my 9-mos-pregnant-belly* ...Okay...
Her: You could get out and take the stairs.

When it's -38F windchill and you're trying to tell your 13-year-old arthritic dog that accidents in the house are acceptable today, but he's too polite and just sits pawing at the back door and crying. π Booties, sweater, coat, hat, nose wax, and being carried in and out it is.
Got in a hospital elevator today with 2 unmasked people, despite signs everywhere indicating masks required. Super excited to be having surgery to birth a tiny vulnerable human next week in the midst of this shit. ππ·

If it wasn't so effing impossible to get a timely appointment with a specialist who takes my insurance, I'd switch providers, but I feel like I'm stuck.
Really frustrated with my endocrinologist's office rn. There is a large "masks required" sign upon entering the building, but no one in the office is wearing them anymore, and they are telling patients it's ok to take them off. By definition, all patients there are high risk.
Apart from creating "excess" embryos, IVF also takes hetero sex completely out of the equation, allowing lgbtq couples to conceive and cis women to independently control their own fertility. Those are two things the conservative "pro-life" movement wants to crack down on.

NPR's headline writers and social media team definitely doing their part for both democracy and their annual fund drive. Much more effective than a branded tote bag.

@chescaleigh Thanks. As my OB likes to put it, fetuses are "very efficient little parasites." And it would probably be helpful if we referred to them as such more often. π€£
@hankgreen Glad you deleted this. I manage a band that pulls a decent audience, but every time we're forced to use tm, we get hundreds of comments and emails complaining that we are personally ripping off fans with the fees, when we never see a cent of that money.
@virtuistics I really wish appliance manufacturers would catch up to this, too. We've been on a waitlist for an induction range since April due to extremely limited supply. Meanwhile, I could have 40 different models of gas range delivered tomorrow if I wanted.
So @MayorFrey and @Calex_law should be the first in line at 4pm @ Boneshaker Books today donating the highest grade gear to Supply Depot since their employees violated federal law and destroyed folks shelter and personal belongings. https://t.co/59k1egh0cP
Driving through the town I grew up in this morning and discovered that the local dive bar has been replaced by a Starbucks, and our high school late night hang Perkins has been replaced by a Chick-fil-A. Didn't expect my day to be ruined like that.
