Step Up to STEM concluded summer programming visiting UNC Pembroke at the end of July. We were excited to welcome our very first cohort of students to UNCP for a week full of classes and enrichment activities!
Earlier in July, Step Up to STEM visited Elizabeth City State University where two cohorts of students were welcomed for a week of classes and enrichment activities!
Step Up to STEM is in full swing! In June, we welcomed cohort 2 students to NCSSM-Durham and this week we are on the road for Step Up to STEM at Elizabeth City State University! Before we share highlights from this week, let’s take a look back at our kick-off week in June!

Step Up to STEM’s Dr. Gerri Cole and Extended Learning’s Camilla Brothers visited Scotland County Schools and @psrcedu last week! It was wonderful to share the opportunities available to students in Scotland and Robeson County as a result of the Anonymous Trust grant!

Last week, Step Up to STEM, in collaboration with Hannah Isley, Partnership & Student Support Specialist, visited Githens Middle School’s STEAM Night, where we engaged with students, families, and educators to share the opportunities available through Extended Learning at NCSSM!
Step Up to STEM was on the road February 7, along with Caila Holley, Associate Director of STEM Mentoring, participating in the 'Bull City in Black’ HBCU Showcase at the Emily K Center in Durham. What a great opportunity to share information about our programs that we offer!
