@zo_demalia Oh wait there actually are rules on spending to BUY players. Essentially you have to sell to buy. But league placements, champions league runs, sponsorship deals etc etc can help with that. Essentially it doesn't matter how rich your owners are, it matters how much the club earns
@zo_demalia So there isn't technically a Salary Cap. But there is a rule where your total salary cost can't be more than a certain amount of revenue. I'm not sure on the specifics but basically.
Earn lots of money -> More money for salaries
Idk if that's how american sports work, sorry ๐
@zo_demalia 3. Players choose if they want to go somewhere. Say Spurs and Chelsea are both going for a player, if we offer more money then the player probably picks us. In any other case (same contract, same offer to the club) the player still chooses. The club always has to accept though.
@zo_demalia Teams spend actual money to acquire the players. Player trades are a thing but are very rare. The way you typically acquire a player is by having talks with the club they're currently contracted to, they decide on a "Transfer Fee" and you either pay it or negotiate it down.
1.
@zo_demalia 2. Free Agency is a thing just like in other sports but is again very rare, as teams don't usually want to wait a year or two for players to become free agents due to how volatile player transfers are. Even if the deal is fully agreed it can change at the drop of a hat.
@SpursFactos@SB8308715342770 Only thing i could say to sort of counter that is that the only reason Reijnders didn't play is because of Pep's weird player picking. Tonali would certainly get more games than him but would rot on a bench behind Anderson and Rodri.
@SpursFactos@SB8308715342770 Depends on if City get Anderson done. I think if they have Anderson and Rodri then Tonali would rather play for us. But if either of those ISNT at city by the time it comes down to him deciding then i think everyone knows where he's going.
@k1chy@david_elgadaffi@SebOnFootball Exactly. For example I love Odobert but if we bring in (let's say) Savinho and Nusa or something then Odobert can rot on the bench as far as i care. Fan girl culture has no place in football.
@MadGeordie3@Optim844@Hahahdehwu Oh yeah Gordon for 80m is a scam i don't know how the fuck you've done that ๐๐
Fair bloody play to newcastle on that one.
@Optim844@Hahahdehwu@MadGeordie3 Imagine having your best player desperate to leave your club to join the club that finished 17th two years in a row, embarrassing for you if we aren't big.
@david_elgadaffi@SebOnFootball Exactly. Look at Vini for example. Great player, but because he looks like his wet-nurse stamped on him when he was born no one rates him anymore.
@Optim844@Hahahdehwu@MadGeordie3 They also had fanbases that extended outside one single city. Funny how there's practically ZERO Newcastle fans outside of Newcastle. You don't earn as much revenue because you don't have as many fans.
You. Are. Not. Big.
