Odd Down AFC Complete Major Ground Safety Upgrade.
Odd Down (Bath) AFC have completed a major safety improvement at the Lew Hill Memorial Ground, replacing concrete perimeter walls on all four sides of the pitch with new metal fencing.
The project was fully funded through the Premier League Stadium Fund (PLSF), enabling the club to carry out this important work at no cost to the club itself.
The national focus on pitch perimeter safety followed the tragic death of former Arsenal academy player Billy Vigar in September 2025. His death prompted the Football Association to review perimeter walls and boundaries at grounds across the National League System.
Following that review, the FA introduced revised stadium requirements for the 2026/27 season, with funding support made available to help affected clubs improve their facilities.
Odd Down acted quickly to progress the recommended improvements. Following assessment and funding approval, the club secured the replacement of its concrete walls around the entire pitch.
Alongside the safety benefits, the new fencing has transformed the appearance of the ground, providing a smart, modern finish for players, officials and supporters to enjoy.
The completed project reflects the hard work of everyone involved and the club’s commitment to improving its facilities for all four teams and the wider community.
Odd Down (Bath) AFC would like to thank the Premier League Stadium Fund and Wiseman’s Lighting who helped deliver the project. Their support has made a significant improvement possible and represents another positive step forward for the Lew Hill Memorial Ground.
