Now on Mastodon: @[email protected]
@hfxgov 311 is not on right now and I want to tell someone before I forget. I don't think the grassy circle in my cul-de-sac has been mowed in a loooong time. I don't want to post my address here, but I'll try to follow up.
@HRMFireNews Honestly, I don't think it's about you reaching your audience. I think it's about your audience wanting to see what you post. I believe the people will go wherever you go.
@HRMFireNews@Tim_Bousquet Am I crazy to suggest Mastodon? It's superficially very twitter-like and you can even subscribe to an account's updates via RSS. https://t.co/259NOizuC6 is a sponsored and reliable host.
Twitter = shit show
Bluesky = walled garden
Mastodon = totally public
@Tim_Bousquet Learned this the hard way back in the early 2000s when a friend and I were trying to see how fast you could go through the tolls and still have the MacPass register a 'hit'.
I found out.
@Tim_Bousquet If you haven't heard (since you're not on Mastodon much), the operator of https://t.co/lw8ESHo3z4 is shutting it down due to mental health reasons. It will remain operational until June 1st.
You should think about moving to another server. It's pretty straightforward.
@Frenck I think I must have. I would love nothing more than to have HA and my Navidrome instance work together.
I've written some software against the subsonic API before, but it's all ben in either C# or PowerShell. My python is weak :|
@Frenck Home Assistant is the chef's kiss of automation platforms, but Navidrome is that for Music (to me anyway), why re-invent the wheel? Let each platform stay within its strengths and be stronger together.
@Frenck Navidrome is awesome. I've been using it since well before HomeAssistant had a media folder. In fact, I kind of wish it worked the other way around, that Home Assistant could leverage a SubSonic-compatible server.
@LaurenEMorrill Just wanted you to know that I'm one of the people who has followed you recently, and I'm a real person. I listen to @aragusea's podcast and you talked about playing roller derby, which my wife also does, for @AnchorCityDerby.
