Mazel Tov to Rabbi Frederick “Ricky” Kamil who was sworn in as a Chaplain for the Minnesota National Guard by Chap. (Col.) Buddy Winn. Rabbi Kamil is the first Jewish chaplain in the history of the MN NG.
On Memorial Day, honoring P-47 pilot & 1st Lt. Loren Hintz—killed in action on 4/21/45. His remains were recovered in 2016. He is now buried in the Florence American Cemetery. His daughter, Gretchen Wronka, was one years old at the time of his death. She lives in Minneapolis.
Hearing from civil rights pioneer & hero Josie Johnson was a powerful & poignant moment (among many) in the memorial service for Walter Mondale.
