@wesleyhill forgive me if I’m wrong. I can’t seem to find an article you wrote about the family you were living with. I remember it being touching, and wanted to pass it along. Would love the link.
@pastorclint Thanks Clint! Our church has women in leadership and it took a bit to get removed from the SBC directory, but it looks like it has been handled. Tell Campbell I said hello! We served in the same city as missionaries in EA. Blessings brother!
@richvillodas loving your advent book so far!
One question that came up was the scripture reading for Day 10: Jesus separating the goats and the sheep. Wondering the connection b/t that and peace from the day 10 reading? Thanks!
@flemingrut Please forgive me if I’m wrong. I’m racking my brain trying to remember a phrase I believe you used in The Crucifixion. Something along the lines of God speaking life into things, or ‘wording’ things into existence. I hope I’m not wrong!
Dan, we’ve been doing this since our church experienced a rough transition. It’s hard work, but it’s holy. No paid staff, just meals, scripture, liturgies, and lots of neighborhood love. We take the Bible seriously. D-ship is more than 4 songs and a sermon. Be encouraged bro!
Let's deconstruct the Church so much that all we're left with is the simple beauty of a community gathered around a table, seeking to love their neighborhood, in the way of Jesus.
Congrats to Matt Rodriguez for his Honorable Mention selection.
Matt is one of the best teammates I have ever been around. His leadership and calmness about him was vital in our success this year.
Late post
Had a great time celebrating our homecoming parade with our basketballs kids. So proud of the way they represent our school & community.
Big shout out to our SR representative Matt Rodriguez. Matt is a great kid with a bright future ahead in whatever he chooses!!
@socofthesacred I know you’ve posted “The Bible as a Product of Cultural Power” before, but I can’t seem to access it anymore. Could you provide a link I could access? Thanks!
I own a few rental properties in the low-income neighborhood I live in. I also help immigrant families who can’t access traditional financing become homeowners. You might say we try to help low-income families find--what's a name for it--"Financial Peace". A thread:
This tweet and the thread before was at best incorrect. At worst...well. The good news is that Rev 7:9 holds a different vision of the Kingdom of God. Part of its destiny IS ethnic harmony. Fully realized. Or in other words post-racism.
Some interesting replies to this tweet. Besides the predictable from the left wing race-cult grifters, there is some disagreement and questions from people in good faith. The kingdom of God is post-racial, and I hope true Christianity prevails over the spirit of division.
1.) 🚨 BIG NEWS 🚨
