the fire incident that occurred in lagos island in december last year led the lagos state government to shut down several buildings, including those that were not directly affected by the fire. that action that was supposed to be some kind of precaution has since then deprived many people of their sources of livelihood.
it has now been three months and still so many buildings are still on lockdown. we all know the state of things in this country, and during times like these, keeping businesses and jobs that are many people’s only source of income on hold for this long cannot be considered a wise decision.
i also believe that a matter of this nature cannot be said to have escaped the attention of the lagos state government.
however, three months is far too long for anyone to be deprived of the opportunity to earn an honest living.
we therefore respectfully appeal that the affected individuals be allowed to regain access to their buildings @jidesanwoolu
