Londoners deserve to ask: WHERE ARE THE RESULTS?

People should feel safe walking downtown, opening their businesses, taking their children to the park, and using public transit. Open illegal drug use should never be something we are simply expected to accept.

I welcome stronger enforcement by London Police. City Hall must also take responsibility for its own policies and funding decisions.

On March 31st, I proposed stopping City services and City-funded organizations from distributing drug smoking supplies along the Main Street of Downtown, Midtown, and Old East Village. My motion excluded the public health unit and did not target needle distribution.

Josh Morgan voted against it.

That is a concrete difference between us.

As Mayor, I will bring forward changes to:

• Shift London’s response toward treatment, recovery, and sober housing, working with the Province to secure the services people need.

• Stop municipal funding from supporting the distribution of drug smoking supplies, and prioritize recovery supports.

• Review housing stability contracts and drug use policies, with clear standards to protect tenants, staff, and surrounding neighbourhoods.

• Require enforceable Good Neighbour Agreements covering security, discarded needles, garbage, and timely responses to complaints… with consequences when providers fail to meet their obligations.

• Publish clear information on spending, property damage, vacant units, emergency calls, and housing and recovery outcomes.

Londoners deserve to know what their money is achieving.

People struggling with addiction deserve a real opportunity to recover.

Residents and businesses deserve safe neighbourhoods.

Taxpayers deserve accountability for every dollar.

Our goal must be to end open public drug use and encampments, with consistent enforcement and practical pathways into treatment, recovery, and housing.

Enough is enough.

London needs a Mayor prepared to change the policies, demand results, and take responsibility.

Road construction is necessary. Road construction chaos isn’t.

Too often in London, projects seem to take forever, detours create new problems, businesses and neighbourhoods are disrupted, and residents are left wondering when it will all end.

We can plan and coordinate this better. That’s why I’m proposing One Roadwork Plan for London — clearer timelines, better coordination, better communication, and more accountability for getting projects finished.

Londoners deserve a city that gets the basics right.

Getting to work, reaching an appointment, or getting home should not mean navigating avoidable delays and uncertainty.

Today, I announced my transportation and BRT commitments.

I will bring a full public accounting of BRT and the proposed North Link to Council: what was budgeted, what has been spent, what remains to be paid, and when service is expected.

I will put the annual road construction plan before Council, limit overlapping disruption on main routes, and require clear access plans and contacts for affected businesses.

And I will focus on practical improvements: better signal coordination, reviews of turning restrictions and cycling-lane designs guided by safety, reliable maintenance, cleaner shelters, and a budget case for transit service that connects people to industrial jobs.

I will initiate the BRT accounting and construction-coordination work in my first 100 days and bring the reporting schedule to Council. New costs must fit our tax commitment. Londoners deserve to see the decisions and the results.

You should feel safe in your neighbourhood — and when something goes wrong, you deserve to know who is responsible for fixing it. 🏡

Today, I announced my plan to bring Good Neighbour Agreements to Council within my first 100 days as Mayor.

When the City funds a service, there should be clear expectations for site management, safety, cleanup and responding to neighbourhood concerns. Residents should have a clear point of contact. Problems should be followed through to resolution. And when agreed obligations are not met, there should be accountability and appropriate consequences.

Public funding comes with public responsibility. ✅

Good neighbours need good agreements. Clear expectations. Clear accountability.

That’s how we begin restoring safety and pride in our neighbourhoods. 💙

Londoners need room in their budgets. City Hall has a responsibility to help.

Today, I announced my commitment to bring forward budgets that keep municipal property tax increases under 1% in 2027 and 2028, with zero as the goal, followed by inflation or less in 2029 and 2030.

Delivering on that commitment starts with detailed financial scrutiny. Council needs line-by-line reports showing actual spending against budget, clear explanations of what money is committed, and meaningful oversight of reserves and contingency accounts.

More than $10 million from a corporate contingency budget line (that Council was unaware of) was used for Enwave-related capital costs, with Council’s approval. That example shows why councillors need the full financial picture… not just the information presented when a particular expenditure comes forward.

I have not been given a line-by-line financial report showing actual spending against budget. I will not pretend to identify every saving before seeing that detail. As Mayor, I will put those reports before Council, review department budgets, reserves, and unallocated contingency funds, and bring proposed uses forward for explicit review and approval. The resulting savings and choices will be reflected in the budgets I present.

I will also bring forward an expanded property tax deferral program for eligible low-income seniors and low-income people with disabilities who own and live in their homes, similar to programs offered by other Ontario cities. Deferral means more time to pay — not taxes cancelled — with clear eligibility, interest, and repayment rules.

This is about protecting household budgets, helping eligible homeowners stay in their homes, and giving elected councillors the information they need to hold City Hall accountable.

Tax restraint.
Detailed oversight.
Practical help.

That is my commitment to London.
