An updated version of the original Beloved, the intro guitar deliberately echoes our very first single. I remember this coming together quite easily, like slipping on an old pair of shoes.

So much to love with this track - the energy, the dubby delay into the end section, more wah-wah guitar, some wah-wah percussion but sadly no wah-wah rabbits.

I'd always wanted to make a 'wah-wah' guitar track since I heard 'Papa Was A Rolling Stone'. I rejected so many wah pedals that I was about to give up... then I tried the cheapest one in the shop!

I'd heard a version of 'Can U Feel It' with MLK's 'I have a dream' speech over the top so I played some 'Larry Heard style' bass and chords and added a vocal sample. It sounded beautiful right from the start.

We were sharing studio time with The Jesus & Mary Chain and got a message we could use their gear. Their lovely Gibson semi is on this track. Didn't have any use for their massive trunk full of fuzz boxes though!

Started life on my mini home keyboard (as did 'Sun Rising'). So many wonderful remixes of this track over the years. Whatever is done to this track it always sounds great.

Still not sure how the sweet and laid back 'Sally' turned into 'Hello'. I do remember sitting in the studio and suddenly hearing in my head the heavy guitars for the intro section right down to the little fills and slides.
