Went to see @BillBailey yesterday in #Thoughtifier.
One of the few people to have reduced me to actual tears of laughter on TV (Black Books - spoons+piano) delivered such a joyful medley of comedy and music on stage.
👍to the other musicians as well!
Sohhhhhhhhhh good

A collection of plants in the broomrape family I have painted in oils. These plants are parasitic and lack green leaves, so their colours really pop out on canvas.
@thorogoodchris1@kewgardens@NHM_London@OBGHA I came back from Tenerife with thousands of photos of plants, rocks, insects & insects on plants. Fortunately my wife is used to me driving along mountain roads & then suddenly hitting the brakes.
I drove past this beautiful yellow Dodder and saw it out of the corner of my eye.
A day after returning from the Canary Islands and look what arrived! The advance copy of my field guide to the wild flowers of the Canary Islands, published by Kew. Six years in the making, I'm especially excited about this field guide because I had the pleasure of coauthoring with the Islands' no. 1 botanist Alfredo Reyes-Betancort, and London Natural History Museum's Curator in Charge of botanical collections, Mark Carine. A lot of love went into this one. I hope you like it x
Today, ecologist Matías Hernandez Gonzalez and I surveyed populations of this extraordinary plant, Cistanche phelypaea, which is just announcing itself after the first winter rain.
