I struggled my first 3 years of high school baseball… and it had nothing to do with talent.
- I relied on results for confidence.
- I feared failure because I didn’t know how to handle it.
- I was a perfectionist.
- I would overthink everything.
- I couldn’t slow the game down in big moments.
- I played great in practice but couldn’t bring it into games.
- And worst of all my self-worth was tied to baseball.
That combo crushed my confidence and made me play scared instead of free.
What I wish I knew back then:
- How to create confidence rather than than rely on results for it
- Freedom doesn’t come from perfection.
- My worth has NOTHING to do with my stat line.
When you learn how to handle failure, quiet the noise, slow the game down, and show up as your best self regardless of outcomes, everything changes.
🎙️ New MLM podcast episode just dropped with ECU commit @WodaBaseball…and man, he gets it.
We went deep on the things that actually move the needle for athletes:
🔹 Controlling the controllables
🔹 Gratitude as a daily reset
🔹 Separating self-worth from performance
🔹 AM/PM routines that build consistency
🔹 Pre-game routines that create calm and confidence
🔹 Breathwork to slow the game down
🔹 Journaling to train awareness and clarity
Jack is proof that the earlier you learn the inner game, the further you can go in the outer game.
Proud of this dude and fired up for what’s ahead. 🚀
