For the hearing problems they should be checked regularly for problems in the middle of their ear for hearing loss or high tone nerve loss

There isn't much of a treatment so far for this disorder so doctor recommended the following.

In 5th stickler syndrome each parent of the individual each carry a copy of the mutated gene but they don't have symptoms or the disorder.
