Six months with iPhone Air: I still love how light it feels. The camera is the compromise I notice most.

So what could iPhone Air 2 change?

CURRENT AIR — OFFICIAL
6.5-inch OLED with ProMotion up to 120Hz
5.64mm thick and 165g
A19 Pro
48MP Fusion main camera with optical-quality 2x framing
18MP Center Stage front camera
Up to 27 hours of video playback in Apple's testing

AIR 2 — REPORTED RUMORS, NOT CONFIRMED
A second 48MP ultra-wide rear camera
A slightly smaller Dynamic Island
N2 wireless chip and C2 modem
Around a 6.5-inch display and an 18MP front camera
An early-2027 release window is reported
Source: MacRumors, July 31, 2026, reporting analyst Jeff Pu's note

The chip reports disagree. Pu's report says A20 Pro, while an earlier Jon Prosser leak said A20. Neither is an official Air 2 specification.

MY TAKE
If the ultra-wide camera actually ships, that's the upgrade I'm watching. I like the Air's light design. I'd just like fewer camera compromises to go with it.

No confirmed Air 2 dimensions, battery runtime or final price yet. Rumor check: October 9, 2026.
