Loyalty is basically gone in college, to travel!! A college player has a decent year and jumps in the portal. A high school player does well and suddenly thinks he needs to be on a better team. A travel player has one good travel ball season and thinks he’s a national level guy…
Pitchers we must be able to compete in the strike zone! Just because you throw hard doesn’t mean you are COMPETING. High walk rates, low strike percentages, and high pitch counts will always lead to runs. Learn to attack hitters, force contact, and trust your stuff!!
Never seen this many high school pitchers dealing with arm issues… it’s getting out of hand. Chasing velo at younger and younger ages. At some point we’ve got to ask…Are we actually developing pitchers, or just burning them out before they even get a chance?
These “performance centers” got athletes paying thousands… and for what?
Teams don’t even practice. No structure, no real development just marketing and BS that only lasts so long.
That’s chaos with a price tag. Injury after injury… somehow that’s just “part of the process”
Pitching membership at 4:30 is still on for today.
Youth memberships at 6:45 are cancelled due to the weather.
Stay safe, and we’ll see everyone tomorrow!
Your coach didnt...
Didn't make you sleep in
Didn't make you skip reps
Didn't make you have a bad attitude
Didn't set your priorities
But it's ironic how many players get mad at their coach when they don't perform and then don't play!
Before you take your kid from one team to the next, or switch from high school to high school just for more playing time ask yourself this...Will my kid be better prepared for life by learning to deal with adversity & overcoming it, or by me arranging the path for them?
