Don’t fret. The St. Mary’s University 2026 Fiesta Jazz Festival is back.
The annual event, scheduled for Friday, April 24, and Saturday, April 25, will feature national, local and school-age artists. This year, the Gold and Blue Note Jazz Club will be in the Bill Greehey Arena and host the 2026 Fiesta Jazz Festival University Invitational.
Saxophonist and composer Adam Larson and his quartet will headline Friday evening.

St. Mary’s University launches Transfer Promise Program, covering full tuition for qualified students.
With a sense of family spirit based in its unique Catholic and Marianist tradition, St. Mary’s University has begun welcoming a new generation of transfer students through its Transfer Promise Program, launched this academic year.
The number of students transferring to St. Mary’s grew by 10% in 2025-2026 as the institution implemented its St. Mary’s University Transfer Promise program, which covers full tuition for qualified students transferring to St. Mary’s. Qualifications include a GPA of 3.5 or above, submitting a FAFSA, being Pell-eligible and having at least 30 hours of transferable credit.

St. Mary’s University Center for Catholic Studies invites the #StMU community for the Escobedo St. John's Bible Lecture Series featuring Claudia Herrera-Montero, Ph.D., on Tuesday, April 14, at 7 p.m., in the University Center, Mengler Conference Room.
Herrera-Montero, a Catholic practical theologian and Assistant Professor of Theology at Dominican University in Chicago, will present Magnificat: Fiesta and Participation in the Community.
The spring lectures from the Center for Catholic Studies are framed around the Marianist Educational Characteristics of Integral, Quality Education and, more precisely, on education of the whole person, on creation and community beyond the classroom.

Join us tomorrow, February 19, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the UC, Mengler Conference Room, for the MacTaggart Catholic Intellectual Tradition Lecture Series Catholic Imagination, Children’s Literature and Formation Featuring — LuElla D’Amico, Ph.D. Associate Professor, University of the Incarnate Word.
D’Amico will examine how children’s literature and storytelling serve as sites of theological imagination and moral formation, drawing on her new book Wondrous Reading: Encountering the Catholic Faith through Children’s Literature. The lecture will provide lunch to attendees.

🩷Here's a Rattler love story for the ages! 🩷
When a then-teenage Javier Oliva first saw the blond-haired girl working an information booth for her high school French club in November 1981, he almost twisted his neck turning to stare.
As captain of the Antonian College Preparatory High School basketball team, Oliva was used to the fast-paced sport and moving quickly. The girl’s striking beauty, however, stopped him in his tracks.
Sadly, he figured the moment would be fleeting.
“I thought I would never see this person again because I didn’t know who she was, but I knew she was beautiful,” said Oliva (M.S. ’87, J.D. ’90).
