@SaintNicksReception had the best time learning how to play ‘What’s the Time, Mr Wolf?’ during playground games club. They particularly enjoyed getting chased by ‘The Wolf’!
@StNicksReception have been learning about sharing this week. Today the children were investigating which numbers can be shared equally and which can’t. #StNicksDiscover#StNicksCuriosity
@StNicksReception have started to learn about instructions. We received a letter from Baby Bear to ask us to help him make a jam sandwich to take on his next space adventure. Today we practised making one ourselves. @StNicksDiscover
@StNicksReception got a cold surprise in the muddy area this afternoon and were out in the hail. The children had lots of fun catching the small balls of ice and observing how they changed as they melted. #StNicksDiscover#StNicksCuriosity
@StNicksReception have been reading the story ‘Handa’s Surprise’. This week they sketched Handa’s basket of fruit and then used watercolours to paint it. They looked carefully at the colours and added lots of details. I think we have some future artists in the making. #StNicksArt
@StNicksReception had a fun during their ‘Growing Day’. They dressed up in the colour of their favourite fruit or vegetable, chopped up some fruit to make their own healthy smoothie and planted sunflower and broad bean seeds. We can’t wait to see them grow! #StNicksDiscover
@StNicksReception created some beautiful Valentine’s artwork in the style of Kandinsky. They listened to classical music while painting their colourful hearts. #StNicksArt#StNicksLower#StNicksArtsCrafts
#StNicksReception had a fantastic time at The Gruffalo Trail. Despite the rain they got stuck into the different activities building log pile houses, mouse homes as well as learning how to sing like Tawny owls and burying pine cones like squirrels. #StNicksTrips#StNicksDiscover
#StNicksReception have been working hard in maths this week estimating. They made some sensible guesses on how many objects were in each jar and then counted them carefully to see how close they were. #StNicksDiscover#StNicksMaths
#StNicksReception have been hard at work this week creating some beautiful penguin artwork. They used different shades of blue as well as white to create some Winter backgrounds and then made penguins out of card. #StNicksArt#StNicksLower
#StNickReception have been exploring different number combinations in maths using the part-whole model. The children did a fantastic job of partitioning different numbers and then writing the matching number sentence. Great work! #StNicksMaths#StNicksDiscover
