DEVLOG #7 — every fight leaves a mark
Faces break now, both ways: broken nose, cut brow, an eye that swells shut.
Take enough leg kicks and you limp. Blood stays on fists, clothes and floor.
Gore setting: OFF / LOW / NORMAL / BRUTAL. Which would you play on?

DEVLOG #6 — stay clean, get dangerous
New: HEAT. Clean hits, parries and perfect dodges push you up: COLD, WARM, HOT, MONSTER. Each level hits harder and faster.
Each hit you take drops a level.
At MONSTER, enemies flinch and keep hesitating for 12 seconds.

@RyanPondBuilds Exactly. A limping man's step-in gets shorter, so work the legs and he can't close the gap as fast. Keep at it and the leg gives out completely. Then he's on the floor, and that's your opening.
DEVLOG #5 — hit where it hurts
Every blow lands somewhere now:
Head shots rock them
Body shots wind them, then fold them
Leg kicks make them limp
Counter right after a parry and you break his arm. He fights one-handed after that.

Mostly layering. The hit itself plays a reaction clip, then the injury sits on top of his normal animations as additive layers: a limp in the legs, a broken arm held across his chest, a hunch when he's badly hurt. His move set filters too: break his arm and every move that needs it drops out or swaps for a one-handed version.
@PokeIndie No enemy health bars. Sounds like I forgot to finish the UI.
In play, you watch his guard drop, his breathing go ragged and his knees start to go. You know exactly when one more punch puts him down.
DEVLOG #4 — what next?
The chapter is playable but nothing is locked:
More enemy types
A proper tutorial
Better camera
More moves
Something I haven't thought of
Play it and tell me which. That's honestly how I'm deciding.

@0xDanielAI Stealing "scale is half the hitbox". The animations were made for a normal-sized fighter, so at 1.23x he punched the air above your head. He's back to normal size now. The new puzzle is making him feel huge without actually being huge.
DEVLOG #3 — I made my boss too big
He was 1.23x the player's height, so every punch sailed over his head. The animations were captured against a man his own size.
Normal height now, and his blows land.
Too hard? Too easy?
