More than 1.5 million suffered as a result of exposure to ionising radiation.  We'd like to bring together young minds from Kazakhstan and Central Asia, speaking up about nuclear justice on national, regional, and international stages.

Thousands of people witnessed the ground tests in the form of fire mushrooms in the vast expanses of the Qazaq steppe. No one told them how the ordeal would affect their families. Our ancestors didn't know the consequences.

For us, the steppe evokes several meanings centring the most important is our home🛖
The great steppes of Kazakhstan 🇰🇿 embrace the painful legacy stemming from the violent soviet times: from deathly famine to devastating nuclear tests.

Steppe evokes the tears and blood of our ancestors which informed this generation’s eagerness to reflect on colonialism. Steppe means freedom since its borderless nature intimidates you with its enormity.
