It's NOT hybrid. It's fractured learning, and it's not working for children or teachers. Concerned parent organizing until it stops. #NoHybrid#HybridHurtsKids

I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but if you are being forced to teach hybrid and the internet at your school dies, you should not have to pay $300 in personal data charges to teach your students who are at home. I’m sorry if anyone felt they had to do this today in Peel.
No Hybrid Press conference and Community Forum in York Region. @YRDSB teachers, education workers, and community supporters have a clear message to trustees: stop hybrid. #nohybrid
My virtual kids are stuck out in limbo, hopefully following along 🤷🏻♂️ Tough to know for sure when I’ve got 27 other kids in front of me and I’m trying to manage two screens, a projector, emails at all hours and… oh yeah, TEACH! This is a raw deal for everyone.

Had a meeting w/ educators in my classroom using tech I teach with. Hybrid - simultaneous in-person and virtual attendees - like class. Those virtual indicated it was WAY WORSE than they even thought. Not hearing everything. Harder to participate. And more. #NoHybridNo150#onted
This is the face of a 20 year teacher who had no time to get her sticker from her mailbox this morning because she was too focused on scavenging tech to make life work for simultaneous “learning!” End of day post:Even read backwards, the message is clear. #HybridHurtsKids
Students asking me when they’ll get their stuff back marked. Beats me! I don’t have a prep one week, then the other week I spend my prep getting ready for when I won’t have a prep 🙃
Throw in a couple of virtual students, I have no idea when I’m supposed to mark.

Exclusive from @njaved and @Mariasarrouh — York school board staff objected to controversial hybrid learning model, but senior leaders pushed ahead anyway: Sources https://t.co/wHKmUZuO0w via @torontostar#onted#yorkregion#yrdsb
@gator_gum@divergentTea I’m burnt out mentally and physically and it’s only Oct 6th. There’s no end in sight. I don’t even recognize my job anymore. I’m so sad and anxious. #hybridhurtskids
@D16OSSTF @york4_public_ed (I notice that the board knew that the most under served students were more likely to be in online learning but they still chose hybrid. A model that would serve those students the least.)
I recently offered a formative quiz. The results: in class average 80% and online learners average is 54%. This is not just sample size. It is who our board KNEW would choose remote… but went with hybrid anyway. No more equity lip service! #HybridHurtsKids
