That was a good bivvy! Left Drumavuic after lunch on Saturday and reached the summit of Beinn Sgulaird after sunset. Cloud poured over ridges and would continue to do so for most of the night. I found a sheltered spot just under the summit.

Walking between layers of cloud on an ascent of Sgorr Dhearg and Dhonuill on Saturday morning. This was ethereal watching clouds roll over ridges and swamp glens and was so unexpected. Two clear summits to view the world from!

@fiveways65 I find flat spots between the boulders to set up my bivvy. I’d be more restricted if I had a tent as it’s got a large footprint. Im sure I’d be toiling to get tent pegs in on stony ground as well.

Friday night #bivvy on the #Corbett Cruach Bheinn by Loch Creran at the edge of the summit plateau. Amazing views up to #Glencoe and over to Mull. The indigo night sky had millions of stars - a night to remember!

Saturday morning I packed up my bivvy on Creach Bheinn and headed for a long wander over Beinn Sgulaird and Beinn Fhionnlaidh. Summits were cloud free and it was great picking out and naming the surrounding #Munro summits. For me the best day of the summer!

@_rossdavidson I use the brilliant Enlightened Equipment revelation Apex quilt . Best piece of kit I have bought in a couple of years. The covering deals nicely with any (if any) condensation occurs in the bivvy bag.
Mat is Exped 3R Ultra Mummy. I hope this helps.

@_rossdavidson I have 2 bivvy bags both by Outdoor Research. This is the Goretex ‘Aurora’ which is no longer made. I use it for more unsettled weather (forecast was for possible sleeping in cloud). My other bag is Helium which is lighter - maybe not an improvement. I use a tarp with it.

The wind on Saturday night slowly subsided at sunset. Bivvied between Culardoch and Carn Liath. With a poor visibility forecast for Sunday would I see Ben Avon? A very fortunate day indeed!

@roley999 I use a heavy option. To line my rucksack as it’s no longer waterproof I use a 56L ortlieb dry bag. At night time I change over and put everything in the ortlieb dry bag. Slugs and beasties are easily flicked off and any dew or moisture can be wiped off.

@mracole1977 I’ve still to do a big western Munro ridge this summer. Weekend weather has been iffy so kept east (and windy!) I’ve seen so many rainfall stats I feel sorry for you guys in the NW for the rubbish summer.

@WarriorNSoul Afternoon Kristin. I like boulder fields. They take concentration to move about and some good balancing when walking about. I use my walking poles for some extra balance for bigger steps. Not quite a fan in deep snow when I can’t see them. Thanks for your comment x

Friday night summit #bivvy at 975m. Chilly. Snuggled down to sleep in a tight spot - my sit mat was used to stop my bag rubbing against boulders. There was no view at sunset. Sometime during the night the cloud cleared and I marvelled at the stars above me.

Packed up my summit #bivvy and headed for the eastern #Glenshee #Munros Cool up high with some light showers. Wandered over to the remoter tops of Little Glas Maol and Druim Mor - fantastic views down to the River Isla.
