“[t]he question comrades must ask is whether we are nationally bound socialist movements with international connections, or an international socialist movement with national sections”
Rifondazione Comunista? What a blast from the past.
Formerly one of the biggest hopes of the pro-party wing of the alter-globo movement.
Until it shit the bed in the mid-late 2000s by entering a coalition government with the centre-left and undermined its own existence.
People who say “well the ban on parties” (I.e. Left SR’s March 1918) or the ban on factions in 1921
These were temporary necessary evils to prevent the revolution dying in infancy. Under a healthy workers state workers should be allowed free association & multiple organisations
People don't recognise this much but "peak woke" circa 2020 was a counter-insurgency designed to rob a popular insurgent movement of its momentum. That's why cops, corporations, and politicians all took a knee - because they were, momentarily, scared of the people in the streets.
This is one of those things where people critique it because it's wrong in precisely the ways that reproduce reactionary politics, then others will critique the critique not on its validity but because they think we should lie to people as a shortcut to class consciousness
@Gemuesehund Zweites ist teils die Folge von erstem aber vor allem kann Arbeitskampf der nicht letztlich darauf abzielt die Produktionsmittel zu übernehmen langfristig nur verlieren
"Modern Social-Democracy" is not Social-Democracy, it's left liberalism, right-wing liberalism or right-wing nationalism. It's no political tradition that stands on it's own. All the adherence to 'their history' is nothing but lipservice and LARP just like the Socintern!
This too clever by half "what if we took a position we don't believe in to win" thing is so common among the non-organized left and at the end of the day, if you believe the working class are the protagonists of history, you need to orient/not lie to them
"Is it sectarian to refuse unity with the broader left? The answer Morley gives is no. The argument he makes to reach it is more revealing than he intends."

i can't really see how this can be part of a socialist political project with any future if you're doing family friendly propaganda like this alongside actual war criminals.
Any time someone tells you electeds and party leaders are “ball knowers” and you should simply trust the experts, remember this. There are no heroes, and we are all responsible for leading our movement.
The US military's supply chain of bombs apparently rests on three factories. If any one of them is disrupted, the entire murder machine stops.
