Did you know that every time you shop on https://t.co/i5Vv45RJJx, you can round up your change and donate it to STREETS HOPE? Learn how small acts can lead to big impact at https://t.co/oZUNwuxLCD
The leaders at Voluntad/Streets Hope tell me that the demand for their services was up 72% in 2021 and is on pace to exceed that in 2022. That non-profit gets the phone call when someone escapes or is rescued from labor or sex trafficking in Colorado.
While many of the discouraging headlines in the news are outside our direct control, you continue to change Colorado for the better with your weekly Word of Thanks microgiving. Since 2020, you've raised $8,191,305 for Colorado's small-to-mid-sized non-profits. Thank you.
It's not uncommon for a human trafficking survivor to escape with their children, who also need support to create a safe and stable life. We know even $5 helps, so I'll match the next fifty donations of $5 here: https://t.co/3pZRmWVeov
When a survivor escapes human trafficking in Colorado, @StreetsHope's bilingual support finds safe housing, job retraining, and transportation. Our Word of Thanks donations this week go directly to those emergency funds. Almost to $25k! https://t.co/3pZRmWVeov
Thank you to the @KyleClark & @nexton9news community for the $24,000 you have raised for human trafficking survivors. Your #Wordofthanks gift helps human trafficking survivors and their children attain safe and stable housing.

Voluntad is a Denver-based nonprofit that wants to empower and support survivors of human trafficking by providing resources ranging from mental health support to safe housing. We can help Voluntad do just that through this week's Word of Thanks #HeyNext

Other service providers throughout the state are struggling to continue providing services to human trafficking survivors. Voluntad continues to fill the gap.
Help us ensure that every human trafficking survivor who is seeking help, gets it. https://t.co/9Qt6TzjNM4
Voluntad continues to see an increase in the demand for our services by survivors. Last year we saw a 73% increase (over 2020) in requests for our services. This year to date we have seen a 100% increase in requests for our services, as compared to the same period last year.
Safe and stable housing is a top need for human trafficking survivors. It can be difficult for anyone to find affordable housing. Many survivors have never been given the chance to build a record of stability and good credit, and need support to do so.
Many HT survivors do not have basic documents like photo IDs, driver’s licenses, passports, visas, birth certificates, or social security cards. Traffickers take these items. Obtaining new docs can be complicated, but ultimately empowers survivors to rebuild their lives.
Voluntad has seen an increase in the need for our services. Support us on Colorado Gives Day Tuesday, December 7th so we can continue and expand our services to human trafficking survivors in need.
