@Spudislander55@afkostka Here’s a shot of him JUST before leaving the base path as the defender extends his arm toward him. In baseball terms, that extended arm in his direction is called a “tag attempt”. Would you like me to show you the pic from 2 seconds later where he’s 10 feet outside this spot?
@_CokeHeads The only reason Olsen leads in any stat here is because he has more ABs on a better offensive team. If Harper had those 13 more ABs, 3 for 13 with 2 HR or better would put him above Olsen in every category shown other than RBI, which is a team stat, not individual.
@Hockey_Is_All@njones_3@LukeKarcher@michaelsbusch29 You’re DRASTICALLY underestimating how difficult it would be to field that ball on a short hop in the grass and make a clean transfer. He may have thrown the runner out if he waited on it, but human instinct and a lifetime of being taught to “charge the ball” clearly kicked in
@Lerewski8@kdatdabat@MLBNerds He also plays for a team that has been significantly better offensively which should inflate his stats, especially for RBI and runs scored, but he’s still right with Marsh in most of those stats, if not behind
@Lerewski8@kdatdabat@MLBNerds 1. Had to check who the hell MH2 was because literally nobody is called that😭 but since you seem to be from Atlanta I’ll assume you mean Michael Harris II
2. Harris has 6 more HR than Marsh for a total of 5 extra RBI but Marsh clears him in every other category…..
@StoneColeStuna@ChrisDiFran3@cywheela You’re factual incorrect. At best, he made routine plays look spectacularly good. At worst, he misplayed those same routine balls. 2023 was the only year he didn’t have negative WAR here. The Phillies paid him $100mil to be a bad baseball player for 4 years.
@StoneColeStuna@ChrisDiFran3@cywheela He didn’t chase one pitch. That would be excusable. He chased EVERY pitch and did it multiple times. You’re delusional. Take off the nostalgia glasses.
@StoneColeStuna@ChrisDiFran3@cywheela Either way, one playoff series (or more specifically four at bats over two games) doesn’t make up for 4 years of being significantly below average at the plate while also being one of the worst defensive players in the sport.
@StoneColeStuna@ChrisDiFran3@cywheela Show me one (1) example of any of those players striking out swinging without seeing even one (1) pitch inside the strike zone. I’ll wait.
Castellanos did that exact thing at least twice that I can remember btw.
@ChaboitheWizard@BustedPlaybook@MxgsHD777@Bluejaysmemes I really don’t care one way or the other and wouldn’t have called it out myself, but the people arguing that the original tweet wasn’t inaccurate are objectively wrong. Actively defending something that is wrong bc you see it as a “none issue” is a slippery slope to go down
@ChaboitheWizard@BustedPlaybook@MxgsHD777@Bluejaysmemes It WAS inaccurate. The call was not confirmed. It stood as called. Those are different.
If a tweet said “The Yankees won on an Aaron Judge walkoff HR” when in reality it was a sac fly RBI, would that still be accurate because “the result is the same”?
Words matter in media.
@BustedPlaybook@MxgsHD777@Bluejaysmemes And his point is that this page is run by Jomboy Media, an official MLB partner. They shouldn’t use “regular fan speak” when reporting because they’re not “regular fans”
@Miggysbat@joefrl We have no idea if his hand/glove is touching the jersey in the area behind where the helmet is blocking from the angle. I agree he was probably safe, but you need “clear and conclusive evidence” to overturn a call, which isn’t shown here. It’s far from a “blatant missed call”
@OyasumiDesigns@HouseLowlights She didn’t leave her tired ass shit in 2025? Imagine taunting THREE times after a routine layup in big 2026. Pretty sure this happened in the second quarter of a game they were losing in too btw….
