Let's work together towards ending AIDS in children by 2030! #IPHASA2024#AIDSFreeGeneration
During the Paediatric HIV treatment Optimization through the Ages session, Dr. Brian Nzano shared this; DRV/r in pediatric populations has proven effective in randomized, open-label, multi center studies & it is also the best-in-class protease inhibitor that is well tolerated.
Interesting to understand the stark difference between Evidence-based practices and Implementation Strategies.
There is a struggle on how program implementers should manage funder deliverables and this presentation was an eye opener.

Looking at some real case studies, Laura de la Fuente Soro (Penta, Italy) simply noted that if we do not improve our national and global guidelines, implementation science cannot be used. As such, there is a need to use hybrid designs in our research studies.
#IPHASA2024
We had the privilege of a captivating symposium on Implementation Science with Dr. Eleanor Namusoke and Laura de la Fuente Soro.
They explored how it bridges the know-do gap, transforming research into practice, and emphasized its critical role in driving projects.
"Whatever, we do in Implementation Science, we have to move what we know works into what we do on a daily basis to improve population health." - Dr. Eleanor Namusoke Magongo.
We must find a human centred design similar to the Implementation Science Alliance at National level.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible youth who helped to make #IPHASA2024 a success. Your dedication as ushers, guides, and assistants has been truly inspiring. Thank you for stepping up and showcasing the power of youth in driving excellence.

@mujhu_care_ltd Mahnaz highlighted that the abstract serves as a scientist's marketing tool. She urged Ugandan writers to embrace collaborative writing practices and ensure abstracts are accurate, and not misleading. She reminded the listeners to "Practice, Practice, Practice".
#IPHASA2024
Scientific writing is at the core of research. Today, Mahnaz Motevalli, CTU Coordinator at JHU Uganda , provided invaluable abstract writing tips. She emphasized that an abstract’s primary purpose is to guide readers in deciding whether to read the article.
#IPHASA2024
@mujhu_care_ltd A strong abstract answers key questions: What was done? Why was it done? How was it done? What was found? Why are the findings significant? Mahnaz encouraged writers to respect readers' time by writing clearly and leveraging tools software, to enhance their work.

Day 3 started with an engaging recap of Day 2, by Bridget Ainembabazi, who brought the audience back to key takeaways .Her recap reignited critical conversations about the ongoing challenges in the fight against HIV/AIDS. There is a need for more focused efforts on children.
We thank @bayloruganda for treating us to a spectacular performance by their talented dance troupe.
The troupe showcased a beautiful array of cultural dances from Uganda's Northern, West Nile, Central, and South-West regions, bringing energy and tradition to the evening.
Last evening, we hosted a vibrant cocktail session to relax, connect, and celebrate #IPHASA2024.
It was a perfect opportunity to shake off the "science," foster collaboration, and strengthen the bonds among delegates in a social atmosphere.
At the ongoing #IPHASA2024 conference, our Board Member Dr. @WatitiStephen emphasized that community involvement is the most important aspect of all programs.
Delegates from Zambia, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, USA, South Africa, Kenya, Malawi, Rwanda, Cameroon, Eswatini, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Burundi, Tanzania & Uganda are in attendance as we work to tackle global and regional health challenges.
A thoroughly enjoyable session that sparked questions and discussions on not just ATI but also more options of prevention and treatment of HIV.
Well done @mujhu_care_ltd team!
