"oh him alright, honey. baby's eager to join us. they're growing so fast," leaning against rio, "you'll be able to feel them move very soon."

she pauses, chewing the inside of her cheek as she tries to piece together her scattered thoughts.
"... I, uh, you know how much we all drank that night, and how much of a lightweight I used to be. well, james and I were dancing, and things got ... intense. we ended up in a ยป
ยป unease in her wife's tone, so she gently presses a soft, comforting kiss to her chest, before continuing.
"Iโwell, I was really drunk, and ... I accidentally said your name a few times. Including when I ... got off."
her face flushes crimson, the heat of embarrassment ยป
rio's sentiments were deeply understandable. but it had taken agatha years to realize that james was far from the prince charming she'd once believed him to be.
"do you remember when you asked me why you hadn't seen me with james in ages? I told you he had to leave campus to ยป
ยป lingered. but after all these years of marriage to rio, she felt ready to finally talk about it.
"he never left campus. there was no family emergency, and his thesis wasn't the problem," she admitted quietly, a faint sadness in her voice. the memory of james's biting words ยป
