The car drives itself, but only after showing you a 40-second unskippable ad for an AI therapist trained on your Amazon purchase history.

At Walmart, the bread aisle is locked behind a subscription gate.

A screen asks if you want to upgrade to Walmart Basic Nutrition+ for $79.99/month. You decline. It offers you one slice of bread with ads baked into the crust.

At checkout, the cashier is a cheap OLED screen avatar. The avatar asks if you would like to bundle your groceries with a new Claude Max Ultra Family Enterprise Individual Plan for $2,000 per month.

You ask what it does.

It says, “It helps you think.”

You look at your cart. Bread, powdered eggs, oat milk, and a 3D-printed banana labeled “banana-style food object.”

You look back at the cashier avatar screen.

You ask if the subscription can help you afford groceries.

It pauses for four seconds.

Then it says, “You have reached your plan's message limit”
